Tibetan Brass Bell
The flowing Tibetian script reads: Om Mani Padme Hum
"The mantra Om Mani Pädme Hum is easy to say yet quite powerful,
because it contains the essence of the entire Buddhist teaching. When you say the first syllable Om it is blessed to help you achieve perfection in the practice of generosity, Ma helps perfect the practice of pure ethics, and Ni helps achieve perfection in the practice of tolerance and patience. Päd, the fourth syllable, helps to achieve perfection of perseverance, Me helps achieve perfection in the practice of concentration, and the final sixth syllable Hum helps achieve perfection in the practice of wisdom.
The bell and Puja stick are two items traditionally used by many spiritual traditions throughout the East. The bell represents wisdom and the feminine aspect of the divine while the Puja stick represents the creative and forceful male energy. During ceremonies and rituals the bell is held in the left hand while the stick is in your right hand. As the sound of the bell resonates the bell and stick balance the negative with the positive to harmonize ones life and surroundings. These items are also used for space clearing in Feng Shui. Bell is 4 3/4" tall by 2 1/2" in diameter. Comes with 4 1/2" puja stick - used to strike the bell.
Tibetan Brass Bell & Dorje with Striker
Frequently used within Buddhist rituals, the bell and Dorje are powerful symbols, referring to masculine and feminine powers within the universe. The Dorje is the irresistible power of spirituality. The bell in turn is viewed as a representative of the wisdom of emptiness, and the serenity found within. Together they represent the balance of these masculine and feminine powers, and the enlightenment found in wisdom and compassion.
In this case, the bell and dorje are skillfully crafted of brass. The bell measures approximately 3 1/5" in diameter and 6" high, and is engraved with a repeating pattern reminiscent of the traditional patterns found in the tools of Tibet. The dorje, possessing somewhat of a more golden coloring than the bell, measures only 4" long and fits easily into your hand or between your fingers. Also coming with the set is a 5 1/2" long wooden striker, allowing you to ring the bell within your ceremony by striking its rim.
